SCOPE
This manual contains instructions regarding operation and routine care of the Gardner-Denver. Falcon Portable Top Drive Drilling Rig. It is intended to help you understand the drill functions and how to operate and care for it. Read and understand this manual before operating or servicing the drill. Keep it handy for later reference. The many variations in equipment for different situations can not all be covered in one manual.
HOLE STARTING
General hole starting procedure is given, because this information is basic to most conditions regardless of how the individual drill is equipped.
ACTUAL DRILLING
The “down-hole” technical problems encountered in rotary drilling are not covered in this manual.
The solutions to these problems are usually learned by careful observation and on-the-job experience.
MAXIMUM SERVICE LIFE
To obtain maximum service life and trouble-free operation, it is important to follow the recommendations in the Lubrication and Preventive Maintenance portions of this manual.
EQUIPMENT VARIATIONS
