1 About this manual

• This manual describes the function, installation and use of the software VDataSrvDBCache with the add-on SyncApp. This software expands the programs VDataSrv and VDataSrvDB.
• It prevents loss of face data during transport of the data to the surface. No data is lost even in the event of severe problems in the network. VDataSrv continuously receives the process data provided by the face software and creates encrypted SQL instructions for the database VDataSrvDB.
• These SQL instructions are first saved in a buffer folder underground. The add-on SyncApp retrieves the SQL instructions from this folder and moves them to a buffer folder above ground. At the same time, SyncApp checks for the completeness of the data. After the data has been moved, SyncApp decrypts the SQL instructions and sends them to VDataSrvDB for processing. Now, other applications on PCs above ground can access this database and visualize process data for analyses, for instance, or export the data for further processing.
• The following figure shows the path the process data takes from creation at the face to further processing above ground along with the participating applications.
