A – Foreword

Opens with the user responsibility chain: owner, employer, trainer and operator obligations. The safety chapter is the core of this section and breaks hazards down by type: misuse, falling, overturning and tip-over, electrocution, explosion and fire, crushing and collision, and uncontrolled movement. Each hazard is illustrated with decal-style pictorials and avoidance text. The chapter also covers safety inquiries, incident notification, compliance, product modification rules, manufacturer safety campaigns, product specifications and change-of-ownership notification.

B – Familiarization

Introduces the machine to a new operator. Covers general safety and intended use, decal content and severity levels, the symbol legend, model descriptions, and a full primary machine component layout with callouts for the chassis, front driven steering axle, platform, platform control box, ground control box, hydraulic oil tank, fuel tank, drive wheels, document holder, emergency lowering T-handle, engine bay, scissors, stabilisers and more. Also includes the ground control box and platform control box layouts with numbered controls and their functions, performance specifications, working area and range of motion diagrams, and decal and marking locations for CE, AS, EAC, ANSI and CSA standards.

C – Pre-operation inspection

The daily inspection regime. Starts with recommendations and working area assessment, then the inspection and functional test procedure, including the daily inspection checklist for engine-powered scissor lifts. Safety functional checks cover E-stop button checks for both ground and platform boxes, activation of controls and the enable switch, fault detector and buzzer tests, automatic engine cut-out, overload sensing system, slope warning device, travel speed limitation, on-board electronics and the anti-crush system when lowering.

D – Operation instructions

The operating chapter. Explains operation from both the ground control box and the platform control box. Covers starting and stopping the machine, movement control, drive and steer control, additional controls, and the full rescue and emergency procedures including what to do in case of power loss and how to rescue an operator in the platform. The transportation section covers putting the machine in transport position, machine layout and loading characteristics, unloading, towing including disengaging and re-engaging the drive hubs, storage, loading and unloading by ramp, and lifting operations with the sling procedure and rigging diagram. Closes with cold weather recommendations for engine oil, hydraulic oil and preheating.

E – General Specifications

Machine dimensions in stowed and transport position for the standard and XL models, major component masses for the frame, scissors, platform, counterweight, wheels and battery, acoustics and vibration data, wheel and tire assembly specifications including inspection and replacement procedure, and options such as the on-board generator and folding guardrails with fold-down and raising procedures.

F – Maintenance

General maintenance guidance, the maintenance schedule, and the full inspection program broken into general, daily, periodic, reinforced and major inspections with the responsible party for each. Also covers repairs and adjustments and the reminder that extensive work on safety systems must be performed by Haulotte Services technicians using original spare parts.

G – Other information

Warranty disclosure including after-sales service, manufacturer’s warranty, warranty acceptance, period, procedure conditions and conditions of warranty, subsidiary contact information for Haulotte offices worldwide, and the California Proposition 65 warning.

Why This Manual Matters for Your H12SX, H15SX or H18SX

These are engine-powered scissor lifts with working heights from 11.95 m to 17.96 m and platform capacities up to 700 kg. Running them without the correct procedures is how operators get hurt and machines get damaged. This operator manual gives you the manufacturer’s intended use, the daily inspection checklist, the safety functional checks, the exact control layout for both control boxes, the emergency lowering procedure, the transport and towing steps, and the cold weather guidance. The technical characteristics tables give you the rated capacities, slope limits, wind speed limits, drive speeds, wheel loads and ground pressures for each model, so you can confirm the machine is suitable for the job before it leaves the yard.
