Description
Dynapac Paver Finisher & Feeder Troubleshooting Manual – 4812019499
When a Dynapac paver stops dead on a mat, drops into limp home or lights a warning lamp on the dash, the machine is already telling you what is wrong – it just is not telling you in words. This troubleshooting manual is the document that translates those lamps, flash pulses and display messages into a numbered fault code, a described cause and a defined remedy. It covers the F2500C, F2500CS, F2500W and F2500WS paver finishers, the MF2500C, MF2500CS, MF2500CM and MF2500CL mobile feeders, and the whole SD2500C, SD2500CS, SD2550C, SD2550CS, SD2500W and SD2500WS family.
It is published by Dynapac GmbH, Wardenburg, Germany, under document number 4812019499, edition 03-0720 (A5), and it is written for the person standing at the machine with a multimeter rather than for a library shelf.

General Safety Instructions
The opening chapter sets out the locally applicable laws, guidelines and accident prevention regulations that apply during troubleshooting work, and explains the signal-word hierarchy used throughout the book – Danger, Warning, Caution and Note – so that the severity of each instruction is unambiguous before any panel is opened or any connector is pulled.
Reading Fault Codes on the F2500C / F2500CS / F2500W
The F2500 generation chapter explains the diagnostic key on the control panel and the two fault warning lamps. When one lamp signals a fault, the query switch is pressed into the display position and the other lamp outputs a three-digit flash code – short and long pulses in sequence. Worked flash-code examples are included, such as code 1-2-8, which points to a break or short circuit in the wiring of the charge air temperature sensor. The chapter also explains that machine-side errors on these models are signalled by a flashing warning lamp, and that the machine error codes themselves are read out through Dynapac service equipment and the BODAS toolset.
Reading Fault Codes on the SD2500 / SD2550 / MF2500 Range
On the SD and MF generation the manual moves the diagnostic path onto the machine display. It walks through the jog dial, home button, upwards button and the two banks of function buttons, then shows how to enter the error memory and what the menu contains: the count of error messages with travel drive stop, vehicle warning messages, engine error messages and a system error display. Detailed displays are then broken out one by one, with error codes, descriptions and the designation of the faulty part as per the BMK/EIC list, plus SPN, FMI and OC error frequency columns for engine-side entries. Deleting the stored list is covered as well.
Machine Failure-Codes Charts
This is the working heart of the book and by far its largest section. Every entry is laid out in a consistent row: error message, error number in hexadecimal, whether the code is saved, possible cause, effect on the machine, how the error quits, and the remedy. The remedy column is where the value sits – it names the pin numbers to check, the valve designations and the calibration routine to re-run. Typical entries include drive lever joystick redundancy errors, steering lever redundancy errors, drive limit and steering trim potentiometer faults outside their calibrated values, start conditions, automatic calibration of minimum pump currents, 5 V and 8 V sensor supply faults, CAN bus-off errors on the individual CAN lines, and open or shorted solenoid circuits for pumps, conveyor, auger, tamper, vibration, hopper, screed levelling, screed telescoping, cabin, seat heating, fan, wiper, fuel pump, brake release and the RCE roll, lock and compaction outputs. Separate charts exist for the 2019 machine families, so the correct table can be matched to the actual machine.
Internal Machine Failure-Codes – RC36 and RC28
Below the machine-level codes sit the controller-internal fault codes. The RC36 and RC28 charts list fault codes alongside the API function that raised them and a description of what the controller objected to – invalid or out-of-range parameters, registration limits exceeded, EEPROM and DFlash page errors, watchdog and trap resets with their reset IDs, CAN transmit and receive buffer overflows, databox initialisation problems, J1939 and ISOBUS failure-list handling, UDS protocol timeouts, safety-output channel faults and hardware temperature or supply-voltage deviations. These are the codes a technician reaches for when the machine code points at the controller rather than the wiring.
Diesel Engine Failure-Codes Chart
The engine section is a full SPN / FMI chart. Each entry gives the fault code, SPN, FMI, lamp colour, the SPN description and the engine-side description, so an engine ECU code can be read straight across into a component and a failure mode. The lamp colour column separates stop / shutdown conditions in red from warnings in amber and from maintenance-only entries, which makes it quick to decide whether the machine must be shut down or can be worked to a safe stopping point. The chart spans fuel delivery and rail pressure sensors, intake manifold and charge air temperature and pressure, coolant temperature and level, oil pressure and temperature, injector solenoid drivers, accelerator and remote accelerator pedal sensors, J1939 network faults, aftertreatment temperature, NOx and diesel exhaust fluid sensors, particulate filter differential pressure, and the sensor supply circuits that feed them.
Why a Fault Code Chart Beats Guesswork on These Machines
A Dynapac paver is a hydraulic machine with a CAN network wrapped around it. The same symptom – no travel, no auger, no screed lift, a machine that will not leave limp home – can come from a joystick, a potentiometer that has drifted out of its calibrated window, a single solenoid with a broken return path, a sensor supply rail that has dropped under 4.5 V, or a controller that has stopped talking on one of its CAN lines. The charts in this manual separate those possibilities by code and then hand you the exact check to perform, down to the pin number and the valve designation, instead of leaving you to swap parts until something changes. That is the difference between a half-day of downtime and a week of it.
Get the Manual and Get the Machine Running
With this Dynapac troubleshooting manual on hand you can read flash codes off the warning lamps, pull the stored error memory up on the display of an SD2500C, SD2550C, SD2500W or MF2500CL, cross-reference a stored hexadecimal error number to a described cause, work the remedy column pin by pin, and interpret an engine SPN / FMI code without a separate engine publication. Everything is in one PDF: the F2500C / F2500CS / F2500W machine and engine code charts, the SD2500 and SD2550 machine code charts for both the original and the 2019 families, the MF2500CS / MF2500CM / MF2500CL feeder charts, the RC36 and RC28 internal controller code lists, and the full diesel engine SPN / FMI chart.
