Chapter 1 – General

Sets out the ground rules for using the roller safely: intended use and abnormal use, residual risks, climatic operating limits from -20 degrees C up to 55 degrees C, environmental protection and disposal, EC conformity, the machine type plate layout with explanations of every field, the vehicle identification number formats (8-digit and 17-digit), noise and vibration data at the driver’s seat, personnel qualification and duties, general safety instructions, driving on public roads and the definition of the inactive and moving danger zones. Read this chapter first – it is where HAMM defines what the machine is and is not allowed to do.

Chapter 2 – Description

Walks around the machine system by system with labelled illustrations throughout. You get the chassis and safety devices, stickers on the machine, consumable fill holes, the cab and ROPS, seat console and steering column, dashboard and steering column control panel, drive lever, diesel engine bay, hydraulic oil supply, electrical system, transmission, steering system, water sprinkling and additive sprinkling systems and the dynamic compaction system. Chapter 3 – Operation
