Description
The Thermo King B-100 Series Parts Manual is the illustrated parts catalog for the B-100, B-100 MAX and B-100 ECO transport refrigeration units. Issued as document 61584 in 2018, it breaks every serviceable component down by grid number, part number, description and quantity, and pairs those listings with exploded illustrations so a technician can find the right item on the machine and order it without guesswork. This is the reference you keep open on the bench when a reefer unit comes in with a failed condenser fan, a leaking suction line, a blown fuse in the control box or a nameplate that has to be replaced with the exact matching decal.

Read straight through, the B-100 Series parts manual gives you a complete bill of materials for the unit rather than a handful of isolated components. The condenser section alone walks from the outer frame and fan down to the coil, dehydrator, sight glass, liquid line and Schrader valves, and carries the compressor, shaft seal, suction and discharge valve gaskets and relief valve in the same grid. The power pack grids then cover the DC and AC motor variants separately, including pulleys, belts, brushes, thermal protection, brush end caps and motor keys, which is what you need when a unit is in for a drive-side failure rather than a refrigeration fault.
How the Grid Number System Works
Each assembly carries a grid number, and the catalog’s numerical contents list is arranged by that same grid number so a referenced illustration can be found quickly. Where a parts list points to another grid, the numbering makes the jump easy to follow. Descriptions use a simple indent convention: a part preceded by an asterisk is available separately or is included in the assembly above it. The manual demonstrates the idea with its own example – the Switch Panel Nameplate 996280 is available on its own, as part of the Switch Panel 991960, and as part of the Panel Assembly 451239. That single convention tells you at a glance whether a nameplate, gasket or cosmetic cap has to be bought as a complete assembly or can be ordered on its own.
Refrigeration Circuit Components
The evaporator grids list the ES100 evaporator coil, hot gas tube, hot gas solenoid, solenoid bracket and valve coils in both 12V and 24V, expansion valve bodies for R-134a and R-404A, the expansion filter, insulating tape, liquid tube, LPCO switch, suction pressure regulator, service port valves and caps, and the suction tube with KLV. Defrost hardware is not overlooked either: the defrost drain tube, drain seal washer, temperature sensor and clamp, defrost termination switch and its grommet, and the 170W drain tube heater with its terminals and mounting screws all appear with their part numbers. For MAX units the drain tube heater harnesses are listed in both 12V and 24V.
Hose, Fitting and O-Ring Coverage
The hose and fitting section is the deepest part of the catalog. Grid 165D6 lists hoses from #4 through #16 in 50 ft and 200 ft lengths, matching clips and cages for each size, o-ring seals and tube-o rings, and then a long run of straight, 45 degree and 90 degree fittings in female o-ring seal, male insert o-ring, female tube-o and SAE 45 degree flare styles – including the versions with charging ports, high side ports and low side ports. Straight splice fittings, tee splices, bulkhead fittings, lifesaver braze nipples and GM block style fittings are all listed alongside the hose cutter, replacement blades and the hose clip tools. The manual notes that clips and cages are included in every Speedy Clip fitting kit and points to TK51183 for more on that system.
Electrical, Control and Monitoring Parts
The control box grids break the DSR III control module down to its power board, cover, fuse and decal kit with 2A, 5A, 10A, 15A and 20A fuses, splash guard and module bracket. Reversing contactors, overload relays and AC/DC power supplies are listed for the different supply voltages, and the main harness grid itemises the 8-pin, 24-pin, 2-pin, 4-pin, 5-pin and transducer connectors, terminals, cable seals and in-line fuse holder that make up the loom. On the monitoring side you get the in-cab DSR controller with keypad, display screws, HMI holder kit and display lock, the TrackKing and TouchPrint kit contents including the 4.5m antenna, antenna bracket, TK BlueBox module and BlueBox battery and cover, and the TouchPrint datalogger kits with printer mechanism, roller, USB cables and 12m and 18m thermistor sensors.
Nameplates and Identification
Because a refrigeration unit has to carry correct refrigerant and voltage identification, the nameplate grid is unusually thorough. It lists the IR logo decal, the Thermo King decal, model nameplates for the B-100, B-100 MAX and B-100 ECO, the electro box identification plate, belt, fan, high voltage, high temperature and holding charge cautions, the service decal, the 230/1/60 voltage plate, the 83 dBA and 76 dBA noise level and EMC decals, the Pharma Solutions kit, and the R-134a, R-404A and R-452A refrigerant plates in both small and large sizes.
Part Numbers You Can Order With Confidence
Every listing in this Thermo King B-100 Series parts manual carries the manufacturer part number, the exact description and the quantity required, and the closing sections of the book add a numerical part number index and an alphabetical index by description so a number found on a removed component can be traced back to the grid it belongs to. That matters more than it sounds. Transport refrigeration hardware mixes 12V and 24V variants, 50 Hz and 60 Hz motor and pulley combinations, and R-134a and R-404A refrigerant circuits on visually similar assemblies. Ordering a 24V condenser fan where a 12V unit was specified, or a 50 Hz compressor pulley on a 60 Hz machine, wastes a callout. The catalog separates those variants explicitly and tells you which quantity each assembly needs.
Whether you are rebuilding the condenser end of a B-100 MAX, replacing a failed DC motor on a B-100 10/30, chasing a blown 20A fuse in a DSR III control box, renewing the suction and discharge valve gaskets during a compressor service, or simply refreshing faded voltage and refrigerant decals before an inspection, the part numbers and exploded views are here in one document. It is equally useful in the office for building an accurate quote and on the truck for confirming a part before it is fitted.
