1 Foreword

The opening chapter introduces the truck, explains the CE labelling on the nameplate and the EC declaration of conformity to Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, lists the accessories supplied (two key switch keys, cab key variant, hexagon socket wrench for emergency lowering), defines the documentation scope, and sets out the information symbols, abbreviations, units and directional definitions used throughout the book.

2 Introduction

Defines proper usage, proper use during towing, impermissible use, place of use, parking below −10 °C, use of working platforms, residual risks and residual dangers, special risks with the truck and its attachments, an overview-of-hazards-and-countermeasures table, and the operating company’s duty under the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV) and ArbSchG to assess workplace hazards and instruct employees.

3 Safety

The largest reference chapter outside operation. It defines responsible persons (operating company, specialist, driver), driver rights and duties, insurance cover on company premises, changes and retrofitting rules, warnings on non-original parts, tyre and stability principles, medical equipment interference (pacemakers, hearing aids), gas springs and accumulators, fork arm length selection, regular safety inspection to FEM 4.004, insulation testing to DIN EN 1175 and DIN 43539 with test values for the drive battery and the complete truck, and handling regulations for oils, hydraulic fluid, battery acid, coolant and cooling fluid, plus disposal and noise/vibration emissions data.

4 Overviews

Presents the labelled component illustration of the whole truck (lift mast, driver’s compartment, overhead guard, left side cover, steering axle, drive axle, tilt cylinder, fork arms, fork carriage, lift cylinder), an annotated view of the driver’s compartment, the display operating unit with all 26 numbered controls, the full range of hydraulic and drive operating devices (double mini-lever, triple mini-lever, quadruple mini-lever, Joystick 4Plus, fingertip console, mini-console), and the truck’s identification points — decal positions, nameplate layout, production number structure and StVZO information label.

5 Operation

The core of the book. Covers pre-commissioning checks (visual inspection, washer system, wheels and tyres, coolant level, MSG 65/MSG 75 seat adjustment, armrest, steering column), then commissioning (climbing in and out, battery male connector, emergency off switch, key switch, PIN access authorisation, signal horn, seat belt, driver’s cab, brake and steering function checks, emergency off test, load measurement zero adjustment, lift mast vertical position check). Traction covers driving safety rules, roadway and aisle widths, drive programme selection 1–5, drive direction selection, starting drive mode, the dual pedal version, service brake, mechanical parking brake, steering, Curve Speed Control and speed reduction with a raised load. Lifting covers lift mast variants, automatic lift cut out, lift mast vertical position, telescopic and triplex lift mast types, malfunction handling, the hydraulic blocking function, operating devices for every control configuration, fork arm changing, fork extension and reversible fork arms. Load handling covers pick-up, danger areas, pallet transport, suspended loads, setting down, and driving on slopes, lifts and loading bridges. Attachments covers fitting, hydraulic pressure release, attachment control for each operating device, the clamp locking mechanism and load pick-up with attachments. Auxiliary equipment covers lighting, rotating beacon, hazard warning system, direction indicators, double working spotlights, wiper/washer, FleetManager, accident recorder, restraint systems, cab operation, radio, heating, push-up roof window and clipboard. Trailer operation covers towed loads, the coupling pin in the counterweight, automatic tow couplings RO*243, RO*244 A, RO*245 and RO*841, and towing practice. The display chapter explains indicators, menu adjustment, symbols, date/time, daily kilometre reset, language selection, soft key buttons and the Blue-Q efficiency mode with STANDARD, FIXED and FIXED-FLEX configurations. Display messages documents the full error code table (A-codes such as A5022 OVERHEATING, A3002 ACCELERATOR, A3043 PARKING BRAKE OIL PRESSURE, A302 SEAT SWITCH), general messages (SERVICE BRAKE, APPLY HANDBRAKE, BRAKE SENSOR, CODE DENIED, LOWER FORKS, SAFETY BELT, SEAT SWITCH, REFERENCE CYCLE) and drive-specific messages. Special operating situations cover transportation, towing, crane loading, emergency shutdown, procedure if the truck tips over, the emergency hammer, emergency lowering, releasing the spring-operated brake with the hydraulic-oil-temperature table, battery handling, charging, equalising charge, replacing the battery using a truck, the PowerPlusLife battery with temperature monitoring and error LEDs, decommissioning, wheel chock, shutdown and re-commissioning, and cleaning.

6 Maintenance

Covers personnel qualifications, maintenance intervals tied to the "Service in" display, the 1000-hour/annual maintenance checklist (chassis, bodywork, tyres, power unit, steering, brake, electrical, cooling, battery, hydraulics, lift mast, special equipment, general tasks) and the 3000-hour / two-year list. Includes the lubrication plan with points A–D, the maintenance data table (greases, hydraulic oil HVLP 68 / ISO VG 68, cooling fluid, washer fluid, wheel nut torque, lift mast bearing torque), safety regulations for maintenance (hydraulic and electrical work, jacking, working at the front of the truck, securing the lift mast with a 120 x 120 mm hardwood beam), access to maintenance points (left side cover, bottom plate, front right cover, rear cover), servicing (radiator cleaning, cooling fluid top-up with the frost-protection table, wheels and tyres, fuses, battery condition and acid density, hydraulic oil level, heater fresh-air and recirculated-air filters), and the 1000-hour/annual tasks — driver’s seat, seat belt, door latch, joint and control lubrication, lift mast and roller track, lift cylinders, hydraulic leaks, fork arms, reversible fork arms and automatic tow coupling greasing.

7 Technical Data

Dimensions, centre of gravity S (1006 mm from the front axle for all four type codes), and the full VDI datasheet: rated capacity, load centre of gravity, load distance, wheelbase, weights and axle loads, tyre sizes and track widths, tilt angles, heights, lengths, widths, fork arm dimensions, aisle widths for 1000 x 1200 and 800 x 1200 pallets, turning radius, performance data, traction and lift motor ratings, battery data, energy consumption, sound pressure and vibration values, and tow coupling type. Also includes ergonomic dimensions with the 40 mm minimum head-clearance rule, battery specifications for 7 PzS 1085 PowerPlusLife, 8 PzS 1120, 8 PzS 1240 and TENSOR TCSM 2545, and the fuse assignment for the front fuse box (80 V technology) and the rear fuse box (12 V technology).

What This STILL RX60-60 / RX60-70 / RX60-80 Operator Manual Lets You Do

With the full RX60 series operator manual to hand you can carry out every routine the truck demands correctly the first time — the daily visual inspection, the coolant and washer-fluid checks, the MSG 65/MSG 75 seat and armrest adjustment, the PIN access authorisation setup, the load measurement zero adjustment, the vertical lift mast position calibration, the seat belt and restraint check, and the brake, steering and emergency off function tests that have to be done before the truck is put into service. You can set the correct drive programme, select the drive direction on any of the six available control configurations, run the dual pedal version, operate the service brake and mechanical parking brake properly, and understand exactly when Curve Speed Control and raised-load speed reduction are acting on the truck.

For load handling the RX60 operator manual covers everything from the capacity rating plate and load centre of gravity to the correct fork spacing, the danger area rules, pick-up and set-down procedures, suspended-load precautions, driving on slopes and lifts, and the aisle width tables for 1000 x 1200 and 800 x 1200 pallets. It documents every attachment control layout (double, triple and quadruple mini-lever, Joystick 4Plus, fingertip and mini-console, each with the 5th function where fitted) and the clamp locking mechanism, so operators and supervisors can be sure the right lever is being used for each hydraulic function.

The maintenance half of the manual gives the exact service intervals, the 1000-hour/annual and 3000-hour checklists, the lubrication plan, the maintenance data table of greases and fluids, the radiator cleaning and cooling fluid concentration table, the wheel and tyre servicing values, the fuse assignment, the battery acid level and density checks, the hydraulic oil level check, the heater filter replacements, and the full VDI datasheet of capacities, weights, performance figures, tyre sizes, motor ratings and tow coupling data. That means an owner or fleet manager can plan and record every service without guesswork, and can look up the exact specification instead of estimating one.

For diagnosis, the STILL RX60 operator manual contains the complete display-message and error-code table, listing each A-code, the general and drive-specific messages that appear on the display operating unit, and the recommended action for each — from OVERHEATING and ACCELERATOR to PARKING BRAKE OIL PRESSURE, SAFETY BELT, SEAT SWITCH, REFERENCE CYCLE and CODE DENIED. The special-operating-situations chapter also walks through emergency shutdown, procedure if the truck tips over, the emergency hammer, emergency lowering on the control block, releasing the spring-operated brake for towing with the hydraulic-oil-temperature timing table, and crane loading.

This is the manual you want when a genuine STILL document is required rather than an aftermarket summary. It is the complete 372-page factory operating instruction set for the RX60-60, RX60-70 and RX60-80 electric counterbalance trucks, with the original type codes 6341, 6342, 6343 and 6344, and the full CE, nameplate, production number and StVZO identification information. Nothing is abbreviated and nothing is paraphrased — the safety warnings, tables, torque figures and procedure steps are reproduced as published by STILL GmbH in the 10/2016 English edition.
