Description

This Doosan BR14JW-7 PLUS BR16JW-7 PLUS Operation & Maintenance Manual (document number SB2438E01) is the factory-issued guide for the 48 Volt electric reach trucks badged as BR14JW-7 PLUS and BR16JW-7 PLUS in the FRAOL and FRAOM configurations. Everything the operator and the service technician needs for these machines sits in one document: the safety rules, the daily and periodic maintenance intervals, the capacity charts, the controls walkthrough, and the lubrication and torque data. Working from this Doosan reach truck manual means the correct procedure and the correct specification are always to hand instead of scattered across loose service sheets.

Safety Section

The Safety Section is where this manual earns its keep. It opens with the important safety information, the location and meaning of every warning sign and label on the truck, and the general hazard information that applies to any counterbalanced or reach truck. From there it works through lift chain inspection, operation information, maintenance information, burn prevention, fire or explosion prevention, seat adjustment and the full set of safety rules. Two topics are handled with unusual care: Avoiding Lift Truck Tipover, which lays out the stability triangle, the centre of gravity of the truck and of the load, and how dynamic forces from braking, acceleration and turning can push the combined CG outside the base; and the Emergency Lowering device, which explains how to bring the carriage down with the built-in screw in the main control valve if the lift lever fails. The Hand Placement, No Standing On Forks, and Battery Disconnect Before Servicing warnings are reproduced with the same illustrations that appear on the machine.

General Section

The General Section holds the Declaration of Conformity for the BRJW-7 PLUS family, the full specification tables for both the BR14JW-7 PLUS and the BR16JW-7 PLUS across the 420AH, 560AH and 700AH battery configurations, and the noise and vibration figures measured to the PREN 12053 and PREN 13059 test methods. It also includes the capacity charts with side shifter for both models, the locations of the lift truck serial number and the operator’s warning plate, and a complete list of mast and attachment abbreviations (STD, FF, FFT, QUAD, SPEC, SSS, HSS, ISS, ISFP and the clamp, handler and positioner codes) so the identification plate on any machine can be decoded on the spot.

Operation Section

The Operation Section walks through the operator’s station and the monitoring systems, then the lift truck controls. The compact display is covered segment by segment: battery level, hour meter or odometer, speedometer, EM parking brake, alarm warning, slow speed symbol, seat switch and pedal switch status. The console keys (ENTER, ESC, TURTLE, UP, DOWN, P1-2, key on/off) are described together with the run-time diagnostic and calibration procedures, and the alarm code tables for the main controller and the EPS inverter are printed in full so a fault on the screen can be traced immediately. The remainder of the section covers before-operating checks, starting and driving technique, electrical braking (plugging), inching into loads, lifting and depositing, travelling with or without a load, turning, lifting drums or round objects, parking, lift fork adjustment for hook-on type forks, storage information, and transportation hints including crane lifting points and tiedown locations.

Maintenance Section

The Maintenance Section is the largest part of this BR14JW-7 PLUS / BR16JW-7 PLUS manual and it is organised by service interval, exactly as a workshop would use it. It begins with a dedicated guide to the inspection, maintenance and repair of lift truck forks โ€” the causes of fork failure, the daily and 12-month inspection routines, and the repairs that may and may not be attempted โ€” followed by torque specifications for standard and metric fasteners and the lubricant specifications for chains, mast channels, hydraulics, transfer case and grease. Battery coverage includes the discharge indicator, charging and exchange procedures, and cold storage applications. Maintenance intervals then run from When Required through Every 10 Service Hours or Daily, First 25 Service Hours or a Week, First 200 Service Hours or a Month, Every 500 Service Hours or 3 Months, Every 1000 Service Hours or 6 Months, Every 2000 Service Hours or Yearly, and Every 2500 Service Hours or 15 Months. That covers the self-diagnostics test, compact display keys, power module discharge, fuse replacement, wheel bolt torque, transfer case oil, parking brake adjust and clean, lift chain wear test and adjustment, hydraulic return filter change and hydraulic oil change.

Why This Manual Belongs in the Cab

An electric reach truck is not a car, and the differences matter. The BR14JW-7 PLUS and BR16JW-7 PLUS carry no suspension, run on small Vulkollan tyres, and shift their combined centre of gravity the moment a load goes on the forks. This Doosan BR14JW-7 PLUS BR16JW-7 PLUS Operation & Maintenance Manual spells out what that means in practice: the stability triangle, the effect of tilt and lift height, the correct way to travel on a grade, the handling rules for suspended and wide loads, and the sequence of checks that has to happen before the truck is moved. For the technician, it delivers the maintenance intervals, torque values, lubricant grades, chain wear limits and fault code tables that keep the machine inside specification rather than on the workshop floor.
